Forest School - coming soon in 24/25!
At Thameside we have a wonderful, expansive outdoor area which we use to enhance children's learning.
As part of our wider curriculum vision, we aim to foster a love and respect of nature and the environment, as well as developing our children's knowledge of how they can look after the environment. Forest school is a place where children can develop holistically through regular experiences in a woodland environment or natural environment with trees, growing their own confidence; developing positive relationships with peers and an understanding of the world around them. During forest school sessions, children are encouraged to assess and take risks in a safe, supportive way and in line with our Thameside vision, become independent learners, who are creative and kind.
Later this year, we are delighted that we will be able to offer a new and exciting Forest School programme to all of our pupils led by a trained forest school leader.
